The Choices You Make

Have you ever thought about the daily, sometimes insignificant choices that you make?  What do you do first thing in the morning?  Why?  Just because that's what you have always done and you really have never thought about doing it a different way?

What if you were to think about the choices you make every day and actually CHOOSE to make sure that the small daily disciplines of life are actually benefiting you and not harming you.  For example, do you eat sweets every night while watching TV for a few hours?  Do you do this just because you always have?

What if you choose to change the process and eat some fruit while you read a book???  Small choices compound over time.  Think of the long term effects of the two choices above. The TV and sweets over five years will gain you some weight and probably very little to no knowledge.  The fruit and a book will gain loads of knowledge and better health!

We make small choices every day that compounded over time to create a huge outcome. What you eat, what you do with your time, how active you are or are not all add up. You have the option to make these choices without thinking and see how well they add up or you can make conscious choices that you purposely expect to compound in a positive way!

This book has opened my eyes to exactly HOW big of an impact small purposeful choices can make in the long run.  The book uses the "magical penny" as an illustration.  A small insignificant penny compounded over time makes a huge difference!

A single penny that doubles every day for 31 days gives you $5.3 million! But you don’t see the big effect until about day 26 or more! Banks get rich off compound interest, so we should know that it is important!  Compound choices work the same way, but in your favor if you make them.

Remember....this is a time thing.  Small choices now for a huge payoff later.  Like in the penny example above, how often do we stop on day five because it appears we only have $0.16 and we focus on the now and never look to day 31! I encourage you to start looking to day 31 and beyond!!  I also encourage you to go get this book!

Sonya Jean

This is a song I wrote for my sister and few years ago.  Here is part of her story that I told in another post:   My sister's story Sonya Jean I wish I had one more day, I wish I had just one more day. If someone had told me that this was the way; I would have wished for just one more day. The good Lord giveth, and He taketh away, I wish I had just one more day. Such short time on Earth, you had to live; And in that time you had so much to give. A mother, sister and a daughter, A spirit filled with fun and laughter. As sickness came to take you away, I held tight to every day. I wish I had one more day, I wish I had just one more day. If someone had told me that this was the way; I would have wished for just one more day. The good Lord giveth, and He taketh away, I wish I had just one more day. So many things I should have said, Sitting there beside your bed. The most important we covered, The day you prayed and Jesus ...

Loving an MLM, seriously?!?!?!

I am the girl who likes to be home, like never leave home, have peace and quiet, and am afraid of people ;)  I have never "sold" anything in my life (before a year ago), and I rarely tell people about things I love because I just assumed they really didn't care. I have always worked from home, but at a "real" business.  The hubs and I own an electrical contracting business and I have always run the home office.  How many hubs get to go home with the secretary 😀 Well, I am the last person I would have ever expected to fall in love with a MLM business.  I am very skepticle of things and like I said....PEOPLE!  But, as I often do, I have surprised myself.  I got started with Young Living as part of a 15 year journey to get some answers and freedom for a hubs that suffered from severe chronic migraines.  Little did I know that this company would radically change our lives! Not only have we tackled the migraines, we have learned as a family and healt...

Momcation

As a mom, I feel like my number one job is always to take care of everyone else.  I rarely, if ever, have someone babysit my kiddos and I really never go anywhere without them.  They are MY gifts from God and therefore they are MY responsibility.  This has always been my thought process for 15 years of marriage.  When I would hear mom's talk about monthly date nights or mom's night out or a vacation without the kids I would gasp!  Yup--totally was judgemental.  Truth--as women, we most often are!  But then something changed.  I would laughingly say it was Young Living, but it was a strange by-product of joining Young Living that I never expected.......FRIENDS! I met some of the most wonderful women ever.  I also started to learn more and more about self care and how advantageous it is to my entire family when I take care of me sometimes, even if for a short time. Last year I took my first ever vacation without my family!  I was a w...
